Work Experience:

Jan 2013 – now, Central China Normal University, Associate professor in Department of Physics

Previously: Post-doc in Department of Physics, University of Illinois at Chicago,

Research Area:

My research work mainly focuses on experimental nuclear physics in large laboratories. Currently I involve in two collaborations, 1) the STAR group at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York, United States, and 2) the ALICE group at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland / Saint Genis, France. Detailed information of both collaborations can be found at following links:

  1. www.star.bnl.gov

  2. alice-collaboration.web.cern.ch

In the last 15 years, my interest has been concentrated in Quark-Gluon-Plasma, or QGP, a hot and dense media created in either labs above via ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collider, and later detected by big experiments from each collaboration. The description of such hot and dense QGP can be found at pre-print server, www.arxiv.org, by searching any paper has a QGP word in its title and/or abstract. You can filter your search results by adding more keywords, such as “white paper”, or “jet” and “medium effect”.

As an experimentalist, I do my physics by not only analyzing data, but also help acquiring them. Please keep in mind that we work in big collaborations with thousands of physicists, and I cannot do all work on my own. That means I also need to help development of next generation detectors. I used to work on silicon strip/pixel detectors, but nowadays I focus on calorimeters, which can be used to detect both electron, photon, and charged hadron, if propriate structure is selected.

Therefore, I welcome you to discuss physics with me, either with a pen, a computer, or a screw driver. We can always find interesting topics, especially in nuclear physics.
